Enhancing the First Line of Defense | Home & Cyber Security
With the craziness of life, it can be easy to accidentally let things slip your mind. It’s not until something disrupts our plans that we take a step back and evaluate our routines.
In our latest issue, Laura Kostad interviewed two community experts on security of both tangibles and intangibles; Aaron Clem of the KPD and Christopher Grow, owner of TCT Computer Solutions. Here are a few tips that they each shared to enhance our home and cybersecurity!
Home Security tips with Aaron Clem of the KDP:
Check that all doors are locked and dead bolted at night and before leaving the house.
If you have to park on the street, park under the nearest streetlight.
Don’t leave garage door openers in cars parked outside the garage.
Dogs - outside or inside - are a strong deterrent.
Surveillance cameras can’t stop a crime, only help solve it.
Cyber Security tips with Christopher Grow of TCT Computer Solutions:
Install updates on your computer as soon as they become available.
Regularly back up your essential data and important files.
Do not save login credentials through your web browser.
